Despite the struggles of the Great Depression, the hotel remained open until 1930. It’s beautiful setting and southern hospitality kept the Holberg family as owners of the property until 1978 when K.D. and Virginia Wood purchased it. In 1984, the Woods opened the property as The Veranda Inn, a Bed and Breakfast inn. Since its transformation into a Bed and Breakfast inn, The Veranda Inn has continued to attract guests with its charming ambiance and warm hospitality. In 2004, Bobby and Jan Boal took over ownership and undertook extensive renovations to the property. For the last 15 years, they have strived to preserve the rich history and character of the building while also providing comfortable and inviting accommodations for guests.
