Ashton Winger Wins Big at Senoia Raceway in Schaeffer’s Oil Southern Nationals Roscoe Smith Classic

Ashton Winger landed yet another victory at his home track Senoia Raceway by beating out Carson Ferguson in the Schaeffer’s Oil Southern Nationals-sanctioned Roscoe Smith Classic and taking the $7,544 win. As 47 cars vied for the trophy, the No. 12 car emerged with a thrilling mainly three-way battle between Winger, Ferguson, and Stormy Scott.

Ashton Winger proved why he is so tough to beat at Senoia Raceway, taking home the trophy in the Schaeffer’s Oil Southern Nationals-sanctioned Roscoe Smith Classic. The No. 12 car from Senoia, GA fought off Carson Ferguson’s advances to secure the win and a cash prize of $7,544. With 47 cars signed in for the competition, this was no easy feat. Winger’s victory marks yet another successful race on his home track.

Qualifying Results

Carson Ferguson and Ashton Winger emerged triumphant from their respective groups in the qualifying results, with Ferguson claiming first place in Group A with a time of 14.184 seconds and Winger taking top honors in Group B with a time of 14.135 seconds. Stormy Scott, Tyler Millwood, Kenny Collins, Austin Horton, Garrett Smith, and Jordy Nipper rounded out the results.

A Thrilling Race to the Finish Line

The final laps of the race were action-packed, as Winger and Ferguson fought for the lead. On lap 32, Winger made a daring move around the outside of turn four, taking the inside line on the next lap. With two laps to go, Winger had opened up a sizable gap between himself and Ferguson and went on to take the checkered flag with a comfortable lead.

At the start of the 44-lap feature, Winger surged ahead with Ferguson, Scott, Horton and Millwood close behind. A thrilling race between the top-3 soon ensued, with Winger emerging victorious. The drivers were neck-and-neck until lap 10, when Winger and Ferguson broke away from Scott. On lap 16, the duo found themselves in a three-way battle for the lead, and Winger confidently maneuvered around the track, using the high line in turns one and two, while Ferguson ran around the bottom of the speedway. By the halfway point, Winger had created a substantial gap between himself and his competitors, cementing his position as the winner.

Even two late race cautions did not deter Winger’s efforts, and the No. 18x finally crossed the finish line in first place.
