Blood donations have taken center stage since the pandemic struck the world. The national blood shortage has resulted from the disruption of blood donation schedules. To combat this shortage, the Senoia Optimist Club has partnered with the American Red Cross to host a blood drive event on November 6.

Register to Give Blood: Book an appointment online or by calling 1-800-RED CROSS. With your appointment confirmed, the next step is a screening to determine your eligibility. Anyone aged 16 or older and weighing 110 pounds can donate blood. The eligibility criteria have been updated to align with FDA guidelines, allowing more donors to give blood. A Coronavirus vaccine doesn’t affect donor eligibility.
The Rewards of Donating Blood: You wouldn’t have guessed it, but donating blood can earn you gift cards! All blood donors during the Senoia Optimist Club blood drive on November 6 will receive a $10 e-gift card from the American Red Cross. It’s not just about the gift card; it’s about saving lives. The more people come out to donate blood, the more lives will be saved.
Enter the $5,000 Gift Card Raffle: By giving blood, you automatically enter a raffle for a $5,000 Amazon e-gift card! Only American Red Cross donors are eligible to enter the raffle. In addition, all participating blood donors enjoy our famous grilled cheese sandwiches and other snacks as a thank-you for their life-saving donation.
Location and Time: The blood drive will happen at the historical Senoia United Methodist Church at 229 Bridge Street. The church has ample space to accommodate all blood donors safely. Parking is located at the front of the church. Don’t forget to bring your ID and to come with a face mask on. The blood drive starts at 9:30 a.m. and runs until 2:30 p.m. to give people more extended hours. Bookings and spots are not limited, but booking early guarantees you the most comfortable time.
